And the Winning Outfit Was...

No surprise if you were keeping track of the votes - the winning outfit chosen by you guys for me to wear on Twin Cities Live today was something of a landslide.  Thanks to everyone who weighed in and helped me get dressed!

Click on the video below to watch the segment and see which outfit I went with:

And some behind-the-scenes photos:

I would  like to thank the team at Terrace Hair/Neon Beach salon in Uptown for getting my hair camera-ready.  Juliette gave me a terrific cut and color.*  She also supplied me with the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger products that were shown in the segment today.**

*I know, the segment was on at-home hair color and I went to a salon.  I had a lot of bleach in my hair and trying to color it from a box would have been disastrous.

** I LOVE the Awapuhi Wild Ginger line.  Seriously, has transformed my hair.  I'm now a believer in the powers of Keratin.

Choose My Outfit

Let's play one of my favorite fashion blog games - Choose My Outfit!  I'm contemplating two different looks for my next appearance on Twin Cities Live (Thursday at 3:00, for those of you who are local).  Vote for your favorite of the two in the comments, and I'll reveal the winner after the segment airs.

Outfit #1:  I Am Bombshell, Hear Me Roar

I feel powerful and pretty in this leopard print dress from Avenue - and the purple belt/shoes combo are a little unexpected.  As is that weird smile on my face, which I promise not to wear on Thursday.

Outfit #2:  Party (dress) Like a Bombshell
This LucieLu party dress is always a crowd favorite - and it makes me feel girly and fun.
And I do love that superhero corset belt...

Everyday Bombshell

Last Thursday, I spent a fun afternoon with two different friends.  I met one for lunch, then headed to the another's to highlight her hair as part of my next Beauty Guru segment on Twin Cities Live.  I wanted to look cute but feel comfortable - and found the perfect combination of both in this Forever 21+ dress.

The Outfit:
Fuschia cutout dress- Forever 21+
Black tank - Gap Outlet
Belt - Gap Outlet
Ballet flats- Payless
Earrings- Forever 21

For makeup, I wanted something that would balance out the brightness of the pink dress while still appearing "day appropriate."  I went with:
Face: Garnier BB Cream, Bobbi Brown blush in petal pink
Eyes: Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Mahogany, Mark Lash All You Want mascara in Black
Lips: Mark Gloss Gorgeous in Vibe

Everyday Bombshell

Gray and yellow (even if it's just a touch, like in today's jewelry) is one of my favorite color combinations.  And when it's possible to sprinkle in a little sparkle- like on this Talbots gray striped sparkle tank and cardigan - all the better.

The Outfit:
Lemoncello necklace- Lia Sophia
Sparkle tank & open cardigan - Talbots
Jeans- Avenue
Purple chevron print purse- Patina Stores
Wedge sandals- Nordstrom Rack
Random shoes on the floor behind me - Dan's

A Really Ridiculous Give-Away

Hey Bombshells-
I had to share this give-away with's pretty ridiculous!  Sponsored by blogger, Most Ridiculous Man in Lowertown, you have the chance to win a happy hour (if you live in the Twin Cities) or an adult-beverage prize (if you live outside the metro) if you enter to win.

You might be thinking, "Why do I want to have happy hour with some ridiculous man and someone fake- named Saint Pauley Girl?"

Two definitely know Saint Pauley Girl (hi!) and if you've been a longtime reader of Bombshell Beauty, you may have spotted Most Ridic.  Head over to Most Ridic's blog for more details.

Everyday Bombshell

You're going to start noticing a trend in my everyday outfits; jeans and heels.  Longtime readers know that, for a long time, I've not been a fan of jeans.  Or pants of any sort -I'm a skirt/dress kind of girl.  But I've found myself reaching for jeans more and more often, lately.  And nothing goes better with jeans than sky-high heels.

Also?  I kind of wonder, What's the point?" if I'm not at least 6'4" tall.

I wore this outfit to a happy hour with the group of people with whom I went to Guatemala a few weeks ago.  It was a fun, festive evening!

The Outfit:
Black open cardigan- Avenue
Tropical printed tank top - Lane Bryant
Jeweled belt- Gap Outlet
Jeggings- Avenue
Wedge sandals - Nordstrom Rack
Pinecone necklace- Grandma Ruth

Everyday Bombshell

The weather here in St. Paul has been a little sketchy lately - we rocked the 80's in mid-March and are now shivering through the 40's for some reason.  So light layering has been key for me, and one of my favorite layering pieces is a long tangerine cardigan from Talbots.

I'm also a huge fan of v-neck tees that I found online at Old Navy - they're very thin, but come in tall sizes so they skim the top of my hips.  It's the perfect proportion for my long torso.

The Outfit:
Long cardigan - Talbots
Tall tee shirt- Old Navy
Jeggings- Avenue
Ballet flats - Payless

Beauty Guru Debut

Yesterday, I debuted on Twin Cities Live as their new beauty guru.  It was such a fun experience, and I'm excited for our next segment in the coming weeks.  Yesterday's segment highlighted a few of my favorite drugstore products that might be skipped over because you're not quite sure what they do.  With all the choices of products on shelves, it was not hard to find only four to feature!  Here's the clip:

And here are a few behind-the scenes photos with my models - Ashley Sand, Erin Sartor and Jenn Emmerich.

Erin & Ashley after touching up hair/makeup in the dressing room.

 Jenn, texting away!

All three of them, in the midst of Friending one another on Facebook.

We watched the show in the green room, waiting our turn.

A celebratory glass of wine at Cupcake was in order.

My Outfit:
Pink netting pin from Lily Rose (a local store, at Rosedale Mall)
Ballet flats from Payless

Well, Hello There!

How the heck have you all been?  It's been a really long time - and that last post of mine was so final, wasn't it?  Well, it was supposed to have been.  But you know what?  I've missed you.  Missed this.  Missed Bombshell Beauty.  And a lot has happened in the past three months to get me back to a place where I really  want to be here.  So, here I am.  Let's catch up, ok?

Things That Have Happened Since January 1st
  • I turned 32 in February - I love getting older!
  • I've read a lot of books...a LOT!  Favorites include: Your Voice in My Head by Emma Forrest and It's Not Really About the Hair by Tabatha Coffey.
  • Speaking of hair - mine is now blonde-ish.  Golden blonde, sort of.
  • Dan started his own blog
  • I went to Guatemala with an amazing organization - it was a truly life- changing trip.
  • I transitioned out of my longtime job and am figuring out what's next.
So, what is next? More posts here - definitely!  A lighter shade of blonde - maybe!  And a stint on Twin Cities Live as their Beauty Guru - unbelievably! (Tune in on Monday, April 9th for my segment)

Now your turn - fill me in on what I've missed!
