Everyday Bombshell

Every once in a while, I have an Oprah-worthy "Aha" moment about how to wear something in a new way that seems, all at once, revolutionary and ridiculously simple. I keep asking myself why it took so long for me to figure out to wear my favorite blue skirt in a way that really shows off my shape.

With its ruched, scrunchy waistband I can't believe it never occurred to me to tuck tops into this skirt. I suppose that, like a lot of plus size women, I'm a little leery of tucking in tops. But this skirt looks so much better when I hike it up to my natural waist and show off my curves by tucking shirts in. Proof positive that sometimes what you think you're concealing is actually less flattering than showing your shape.

The Outfit:

Striped tee shirt-Kohl's
Blue essential short skirt- c/o Sealed with a Kiss Designs
Black patent flip flops- Avenue
Charm necklace- Forever 21

  1. I like this on you! Such a pretty blue. I'm terrified of tucking - and belts. I should experiment more. I think I could do a belt if I had something else over it, like a cardigan. Thanks for getting me thinking outside the box!

  4. I love this look! You look great. I think it would also look really pretty with a scarf as a belt too?
