Everyday Bombshell

Another day, another new outfit. Hurray! This one is a little, tiny bit outside my comfort zone...but I love it:

You know I love color, and there's nothing like a good print. There's something about this particular swirly tunic that feels a little unlike something I would normally choose. It's a little less overtly feminine and sort of edgy. Which is why I think I'm so excited to wear it.

I think this tunic is a good example of how to experiment with a style that's outside your usual look. You've seen the basic fit and shape of this outfit on me many times before - the long tunic over leggings paired with a fitted belt. So I feel completely comfortable with that aspect of the outfit. But one element - that print! - is different. And voila! Something new and fresh but not so out there that I feel out of sorts wearing it.

What have you been experimenting with, lately?

The Outfit:
Green swirly tunic - Lane Bryant
Gold hoop earrings - Lia Sophia
Black leggings - Lane Bryant
Cutout heels - Payless

  1. You look great and this is very flattering on you. Lately I've been experimenting with tucking some slim grey cords into riding boots. I call this "experimenting" because I haven't done this look in probably 30 years and I'm not sure if I'm too "old" for this re-emerging trend. But what the heck! I'm going for it. I'm meeting the girls for lunch today and going to give it a try.

  3. I wish I could feel comfortable wearing leggings, but I'm not there yet. They look great on you though. ::sigh:: I live this print because it is out of the ordinary! And re color is so rich and seasonally appropriate.

  5. Yay for taking risks, Monica! I think the look you're experimenting with is classic, so there's no reason to think you're too old for it. What is "old" anyway...

And welcome, Abby! So glad you're a Bombshell reader. Thanks for commenting!

  7. I love the color! It really looks lovely on you! Ah, yes, leggings. It does take some experimenting (and guts the first times!) but they add so much to your choices. I like how my legs look in them too, so that helps.
